I use Canva nearly every day to create social media posts, flyers, brochures, presentations, etc., etc., etc. And the best part: Canva has a great FREE plan! You can create a free account at Canva.com and start creating your real estate marketing materials immediately.

I should mention, there’s also a paid version of Canva called Canva Pro. If you’re going to be using Canva a lot (especially for social media posts), it’s well worth the investment because Canva Pro allows you to instantly resize your designs for multi-purpose uses, gives you a HUGE library of high-quality stock photos, and allows you to customize your brand colors and fonts so each new creation is easily tailored to your unique brand. But if you’re on a tight budget, the free plan might be all you need!

  1. Sign up for a free account at Canva.com. Maybe even try a free 30-day trial of Canva Pro to see if it’s a good fit for your business.
  2. Search through the flyer templates to see if there’s a design you like or create one from scratch using the dimensions 8.5 inch x 11 inch (standard US letter-sized). Canva Pro gives you access to lots more templates if you don’t see a free template you like.
  3. Add or edit text, colors, fonts, photos, and design elements until you’re happy with your flyer.
  4. Download as a pdf to distribute via email and/or print for manual distribution.
  5. You also have the option to order printed versions directly from Canva at competitive rates.

  1. Don’t draw attention to the fact that you’re new to this. Introduce yourself as the neighborhood real estate professional. No need to mention that you’re brand new.
