  • Appearances are even more important with a luxury blog than a standard blog. You’ll need a professional-quality website to host your blog. But this doesn’t need to cost a fortune or take a lot of time. In the next section, I’ll show you how you can actually create your own professional real estate website for a fraction of the cost of hiring a web designer.
  • Quality images are a must. You know the power of professional listing photos, right? The imagery on your blog is similarly critical in establishing your brand. Luckily, there are lots of stock photo sites that offer professional, royalty-free images for your luxury real estate blog.

How to Launch Your Own Lead-Generating Luxury Real Estate Blog

To launch a lead-generating luxury real estate blog, you just need a website of your own (i.e. not your Broker’s website; you want to generate leads for yourself, not the entire brokerage). If you already have your own website, you just need to make sure blog posts are enabled, then start blogging. If you don’t already have your own website, you can pay a small fortune to a web designer to build your site OR you can DIY a professional website for just a couple hundred dollars (which includes 3 years of web hosting!).

What about website generators like BoomTown and Easy Agent Pro?

I don’t recommend using these website generators. There are several reasons these generators are less-than-ideal:

  • You pay a substantial monthly fee. Even at the lowest price point, it’s much more cost-effective to have your own site.
  • You’re just renting your site; you don’t own it. If your site provider goes under, you could lose everything you’re hosting on that site. Having a site you own is much safer.
  • Your site will look just like every standard agent’s site. And if you’re going for the luxury market, you need a custom site that reflects your high-end brand.
  • Google may not give your site full credit. The Google algorithm is always changing, but you’re more likely to rank higher on Google over the long-term if you have a site of your own.
